Great News, IHF was approved for 501 (C)(3) Exemption!

An update to the blog below...IHF received full tax exeption 501 (c) (3) status, effective from date of incorporation Oct. 20, 2008. We are very excited and look forward to raising money through fundraising and grants to get more kids to school! Your donation is 100% tax deductible, send a child to school today. Be the change you want to see in the world, let's do it together..

IHF was approved as a tax exempt business under the State of California. The process has been long but the hard work has paid off!

What does this mean you might ask. It is a great start to operating as a non profit, the State has recognized our work and our mission and has approved our business as non profit. This will open doors to grants and all donations will be tax exempt. It is always important to check for this status when making donations, this means the business is operating with a non profit purpose.

When you donate it is important to know where your money is going. Many "non profits" pay a significant portion to administration overhead. This is money that stays right here in the US instead of going towards the cause. IHF is 100% volunteer operated, we work with extremely low overhead to ensure the maximum amount of money goes where it needs to.

The next step is approval from federal tax exemption. The state exemption is normally contingent upon obtaining a federal exemption, so we are off to a great start!
